Diary of a Club Promoter!

At the time of writing this piece there is only 11 weeks until Christmas and 12 weeks until the most overrated party of the year, New Year Eve!

I cannot believe how quickly this year has gone already, it only seems like yesterday when I was dressed like a goblin for last year’s Halloween monster ball and here is it again, my fake blood and my elf hat are being dusted off ready again.

Halloween in my opinion has to be the best party of the year. It always amused me when we hold a really exclusive party and everyone is dressed up in blood and has fake guts coming out there faces and yet they are still being denied entry for wearing shoes!

Aside from this there is a real atmosphere and less pretentiousness (once you make it past the velvet rope!) when you have a bogey stuck to your cheek and everyone just gets together and has a good time like the olden days.

Fancy dress parties are hard to come by these days and very rarely do I get invited to one, I suppose the king of fancy dress parties goes to Philip Sallon who to this day holds the most flamboyant parties even Elton John would feel out of place at. I have been fortunate to attend some of these parties and the theme I have been informed of have included: Illegal Immigrant, Bad Taste, Blue and dictators!

I suppose the reality is certain clubs have an “image” to maintain but if it were up to me everyone could party as a chicken if they wanted too.

I have been busy partying with various celebs right through alphabet from A-list to Z-list this month namely Usher being the main man where I caught up with him after his X-factor performance at Boujis on Sunday. He is in town with Kanye West and P-Diddy will be down at the end of the month after performing in Glasgow.

Most fun though has to go to Brian and JJ from Big Brother who turned No5 Cavendish Square into a rave wearing big luminous specs and ordering massive bottles of Moet! I am also organizing Ben from this year’s Big Brother (the really posh one!) who will be holding his very own flamboyant eccentric party at the club towards the end of the month so watch this space, this could very well be the opportunity for me to get dressed up I have been waiting for! Be sure to not find any pictures in upcoming issues however...

If anyone is holding a fancy dress party this month then please send me all your pictures and I will try and feature you in next month’s issue for the best outfit!

Louise Spence Birthday at Chinawhite!

Louie Spence and Jason Gardiner have fun outside ChinawhiteWatch out world, here comes the male equivalent of every single Loose Women presenter out on the lash (and he doesn't even drink) - Louie Spence of Sky One's 'Pineapple Dance Studios' fame (who you may also recognise from his recurring cameo role on Harry Hill)...

Louie celebrated his 41st birthday at Chinawhite yesterday and despite rumours that Kate Moss was vying for an invite (any excuse to get spangled) we couldn't spot her stumbling out of the club clinging onto Jamie Hince. But Louie didn't mind, as he was busy being welcomed into the wonderful world of celebrity by the other famous guests who did attend, such as er, Emma Bunton, her boyfriend Jade from former boyband Damage, Dave Gardner, Jason Gardiner (pretending to take Louie from behind ^) the Big issue seller from the Sunday Sport party and Donna Air.Here's a taster of Louie in action - you're all going to love him!

DENIED! CLAIRE SWEENEY but JACK TWEEDY LET IN!!

She had got all dressed up in an on-trend Herve Leger bandage dress and her hair was a flowing mane of curls.

Her manicure was flawless and she was showcasing the type of beautiful jewellery that only the famous are privy to.

But as far as celebrity hotspot Mahiki is concerned, Claire Sweeney just doesn't cut the mustard.

Claire Sweeney

Outraged: Sweeney appeared to launch into a rant to her companion after she was rejected by door staff of London club Mahiki

Because as she got to the door of the London nightclub, instead of being welcomed inside and given the VIP treatment, she was turned away and had to retreat to her taxi.

And the 39-year-old ex-Brookside actress was clearly not amused by the rejection.

Gesturing while talking to her companion, Sweeney appeared to be furious the night wasn't going to plan.

Claire Sweeney

Unbelievable: The Loose Woman marched back to her taxi in disbelief to make other plans

Meanwhile, a worse-for-wear looking Jack Tweed strolled up to the door with a friend and by the looks of things has a marvellous evening in the club, frequented by Princes William and Harry.

In a pale blue denim shirt, beige trousers and white Converse trainers, the 23-year-old widower of reality star Jade Goody had evidently made less effort with his appearance than Sweeney.

Jack Tweed

Come on in: Jack Tweed and a friend spent the night enjoying all that the celebrity hotspot has to offer

However, the door staff clearly favoured Tweed's calibre of celebrity over the presenter's - a decision he must have been pleased about.

Leaving the club in a taxi, he looked tired out and ready for bed.

Let's hope Sweeney found somewhere else to go that gave her the type of welcome Mahiki gave Tweed.

Jack Tweed

Worse for wear: Leaving in a taxi the widower of reality star Jade Goody appeared to be ready for bed

Rap star Kanye West follows one Coventry man on Twitter

US rapper Kanye West has made a Coventry man an online star by following him on Twitter.
West, 33, made Stephen Holmes the first - and so far only - person he is following on the social networking site after joining last week.

Mr Holmes tweeted West to thank the rapper for following him. West replied: "You are the chosen one dun dun dun."
Since the hip hop star's interest, Mr Holmes's followers on the site have increased from 60 to about 1,500. 'Tweet strong'
The Coventry man confessed: "I feel pressure with my tweets now."

However, West, on his Twitter page advised him: "Tweet strong young man tweet strong!!!"
Since becoming an online sensation, Mr Holmes's tweets have included: "If abuse is love then I've never felt more loved" and "feeling hungover and I wasn't even drunk last night".
In March, US chat show host Conan O'Brien decided to follow just one person on Twitter, 19-year-old student Sarah Killen.

In an interview with the New York magazine, she described how she was deluged with thousands of messages in the hours after O'Brien chose to follow her.
West, who has a new album coming out, has amassed more than 380,000 Twitter followers in less than a week.

Madonna Looking Not So Chic In London

We're guessing Lola, the resident fashion police, had the night off because there's no way she would have OK'd this look!

Madonna was spotted leaving a London club at 3am this past weekend looking rather frumpy in an oversize tracksuit and fedora.

We get that it was early in the morning, but this is just unacceptable, Madge. Especially if you were at a club.

Women who drink your booze! Bottle pirates!!

Bottle Pirates: Nighttime’s Most Dangerous Villains

Posted 7/21/2010 by Kevin Klein

Hot Girls at the Bar

Bottle Pirates—breeds of women who have been draining men’s booze for years, bouncing from city to city, table to table, Grey Goose to Red Bull. In these tough economic times, it is important to be able to identify the many different types of Bottle Pirates one might encounter in the uncharted nightlife seas. Not all women out at bars are in search of your bottle, but here are the 11 most common types of Bottle Pirates to keep an eye out for.

1: Captain Hooker

Captain Hook LogoDon’t be fooled by the flirting, dirty dancing and constant giggling at your lame jokes; the only way you’ll be getting any from a Captain Hooker is by stopping at the ATM on your way home from the club. This industrious breed of Bottle Pirates can travel in groups or “work” solo. Captain Hookers can be found around the world, but seem to flock to Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Los Angeles and Craigslist.

2: Table Wench

Bar PeopleSometimes your server can be the biggest Bottle Pirate of all. An anonymous Table Wench told us, “I used to work in a very popular club in NYC, where we were instructed to ask our big spenders [suckers] for a glass of champagne, after popping a bottle of Dom. Then we would go back to the kitchen and pour it out before returning for a refill. Before the night was done, we could tack on at least two or three more bottles to the tab.” The Table Wench appears to be on your team, but just like that mandatory 25 percent gratuity, she’s an unwelcome end-of-the-night surprise.

3: Treasure Hunters

Funny Booze StoriesThe Treasure Hunters—girls who drink with you just trying to figure out your net worth, avoiding guys who have cheaper bottles on the table. Treasure Hunters can be easily fooled into thinking you’re rich in the beginning, but usually put it all together when you leave the club in your ‘99 Isuzu Amigo.

4: Scally Hag

Funny Alcohol StoriesThe cougar of Bottle Pirates, the Scally Hag has been in rough seas for a long time. Scally Hags like to hang at hotel bars/clubs (and usually travel in packs) but may venture out in a quest for eternal youth. They like the finer things in life—like fine wine, expensive glasses of champagne and Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds perfume.

5: Jolly Rogers

Guys at the BarYes, guys can be Bottle Pirates, too. A Jolly Roger is a guy who is always happy and very chatty (probably because he’s draining your drinks). He hangs at your table so comfortably that everyone just assumes that he’s friends with someone else at the table. The biggest problem with Jolly Roger Bottle Pirates? They have a big thirst and a small bank roll. How do I know this? I’m a recovering Jolly Roger myself.

6: Land Ho!

Alcohol ThievesA Land Ho! is a traveler, going from table to table constantly looking to discover new groups to swipe drinks from. They are easy to identify, as they will usually show up to your table with a drink already in hand. Some clubs use different glassware at the tables than at the bar, so be on the lookout for familiar-looking cups and avoid refilling them.

7: Captain Jackoff Sparrow

Cheap Bar PeopleFar too often, tables are placed very close together at nightclubs. Even worse, clubs will sometimes place two groups of people at the same table (separated by only a bucket of ice). Captain Jackoff Sparrows are the juiced-up guys spilling themselves—and their hair gel—into your space. They are easily “confused,” leading them to “accidentally” pour themselves drinks from your bottle, or crush your cans of red bull on their heads in caveman-like fashion.

8: Black Beard

Black Beard GirlsSo you invite some good-looking girls to your table. Cool, right? Next thing you know, you have two cute girls and their friends Paul, Chet, Derek, Joe, Steve, Joey, Ralph and Mike all enjoying your bottle of Kettle One. The Black Beard girls are usually very comfortable around guys, which is why they’re tagging along with 20 dudes instead of a gaggle of girls.

9: Penny-less Pillagers

Cheap GirlsThey come out with zero cash, no credit cards and not even so much as cab fare. Nothing like a girl drinking on your tab all night, then asking for $15 to get home or pay the valet. Why have a purse with nothing in it? I wouldn’t go out with my wallet only full of Chapstick and gum.

10: Bottle Buccaneers

Bar StoriesIf you only ordered two bottles of vodka, then why does your bill include 10 cans of sugar-free Red Bull, a round of fruity drinks, a bottle of champagne and bottles of water? Blame the Bottle Buccaneers. They hang around just long enough to fool your server into thinking they’re authorized to add to your tab. If you see something fishy on your table (like a round of Sex and the City shots), then you’ve been the victim of a Bottle Buccaneer.

11: Bottle Pirates of The Carribean

Cheap Bar PeopleThese are locals who live in popular vacation destinations and suckle on the tourist teet. Heading down to Cabo with the boys? Watch out for the overly tan girls who seem to be friends (or cousins) with your server. They have home field advantage, a high tolerance for tequila and probably a husband at home with 17 kids.

Paris Hilton Champagne War!!

There was a war of the Crystal Champagne as Paris Hilton’s new boyfriend Malaysian business man Taek Jho Low, order all the magnum champagne in stock to compete with Paris’ ex boyfriend Doug Reinhart. Doug order four Crystal Magnum, so Jho Lo order eight, and by the end of the night Doug left the club defeated and Paris invited the two girls that were dancing with Doug to her table, they danced together, and Taek Jho Low bought a bottle of Crystal champagne to every table in the club. He order all the Magnum and triple Magnums Champagnes that was in stock at Le Caves du Roy Nightclub in St Tropez, he spent 3.5 Million Euros in one night, this was the biggest record in the history of the club since it opened in the 70's. Paris Hilton has been traveling with Jho Low on his Yacht around the Mediterranean for a week. St Tropez, France. 22/07/2010

After her escapades the other day, we thought that Paris Hilton had already had more champagne poured all over her than one person could possibly handle in a lifetime – but apparently not so.During a night in St.Tropez earlier this week the socialite’s uber rich pal Taek Jho Low – who she’s recently been travelling with – spent a whopping 3.5 million Euros on buying gigantic bottles of Crystal for Paris and her champagne guzzling friends – which they then promptly poured all over themselves.

Obviously (why, what else are you supposed to do with it?)Apparently the Malaysian tycoon decided to splash out on the ridiculous lavish gift for the reality star after the socialite had come face-to-face with her ex Doug Reindhart who was in the same club as them.According to club revellers Doug tried to compete with Jho Lo by buying four gigantic bottles of Crystal but that was no match for the Malaysian businessman who then went onto buy the club’s entire supply of bubbly.Let that be a lesson to you – never ever start a champagne war with Paris Hilton because she will win…

Weird Drinking Laws of the USA!?

The United States has its fair share of weird laws (what is up with having to pay taxes?), but there are few laws that achieve the level of oddness that certain American drinking laws attain. Underage folks may find the “21 and over” rule to be weird. People wanting to buy beer seven days a week may find the fact that liquor stores are closed on Sundays in many states to be strange. Those who like to stroll around a park with an uncorked bottle of wine may find it bizarre that open containers of alcohol aren’t allowed in many areas. But, the oddness that the above laws emit is nothing compared to the peculiarities of those below:

Don’t Use the “R” Word: According to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (BAFT), the word “refreshing” can’t be utilized when describing alcohol beverages. That forces us, the alcohol consumers, to describe beer as brisk, gin as invigorating, and wine as reviving. That’s right BAFT, we have a thesaurus.

When in Rome, Don’t Act Like You Are: Thanks to the Drug Free Schools and Campuses Act, an underage student studying abroad is forbidden from drinking alcohol, even if they are in a country where they meet the drinking age requirements. Of course, this sort of defeats the purpose of studying abroad altogether: what’s the point of drinking in a different culture if you aren’t allowed to be drinking in a different culture.

Bring Cash and Coins to Des Moines: In Iowa, it’s illegal to start a tab at a bar. This is a concept that undoubtedly leaves out of town patrons a-maized. Sorry, that was corny.
Texas Told ’em Not to Buy a Reference Book: In Texas, the complete Encyclopedia Britannica collection is banned because one of the volumes contains a homemade beer recipe. We aren’t positive, but we think any Texan caught with this encyclopedia will probably get the death penalty.

How to get on the guestlist for top London clubs...?

http://www.loveguestlist.com/Love-guestlist-jobs.jpg

A large number of people just read about the top London nightclubs in the papers or in the celebrity magazines and assume they would never be able to get into such parties.

However, it's not quite as hard to get into these clubs as they will have you believe. I party every week at the top clubs and always get in with no problems! Follow these pointers and you will be able to get into the exclusive celebrity functions!

Firstly, and most obviously, you need to get your name on the actual guestlist. The old myth used to be you had to "know someone who knows someone" to get you on the guestlist, but these days with the power of the internet it is much easier.

There are many websites where you can browse clubs and submit your names on the guestlist. Just make sure you use a reputable site, such as Velvet PRt, as there are some sites which are clearly out of date and therefore your names won't be sent anywhere.

Also, don't bother with the clubs actual own website as the guestlists are run by the promoter and not the club itself. Therefore, contacting the club directly can often result in the dreaded "sorry your names not down, your not coming in". Trust me, I know from personal experience!

So now your names are on the list but this still doesn't mean you are definitely getting into the club. There are a few key things to do to ensure your entry and a party to remember.

1) Arrive Early The busier a club gets the less people they can let in. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work that out. Arriving early will help you out a great deal with getting into a club and also means you don't have to stand in a que for too long.

2) Make sure you adhere to the dress code All A-list clubs will be very strict on letting in only the people that have made an effort with their dress. If you turn up in trainers and a t-shirt, your chances of getting in will be zero. Dress to impress!

3) Bring I.D All London clubs are now required by law to check each customers I.D on arrival. If you have nothing to hide then bring your I.D to ensure you get in. Otherwise, its simple. "No I.D? No entry!"

4) Don't get drunk beforehand! It might sound good to have a few pre-drinks before you hit the club but nightclub owners are very strict on this as it means you will drink less in their club and maybe even create more trouble for security. Save the drinking till your inside the club.

5) Don't turn up in large all male groups This is frowned upon by security at clubs as they feel large all-male groups can sometimes cause an intimidating atmosphere. If you do have a large group of males that want to go out either persuade some females to come along or book a table area in advance.

So there you have it, if you followed all these tips you should now be in the club ready for a night to remember! Just make sure you have plenty of money as these clubs can cost a bit more then your local. And if you don't have the money? Well then you are in the wrong place!

Drunk Celebs,,, Cameron Diaz

fp_3291563_barm_diaz_cameron_071909-2

Cameron Diaz got drunk with Jude Law this past weekend in London. Diaz was looking a little blurry-eyed and disheveled as she left the nightclub Boujisat at 3 a.m. Diaz was wobbly, her blue-eyes red-rimmed after a night of good, old- fashioned drinking! more Cameron after the hop… As The Sun notes, Diaz has just finished wrapping The Box and is currently promoting the flick, My Sister’s Keeper. She’s also recently single after splitting from her model boyfriend Paul Sculfor. We for one find Cameron‘s youthful approach to life, love and no children delightfully refreshing. What do you think?

Drunk Celebs,,, Keifer Sutherland!

http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Entertainment/images-5/kiefer-sutherland-drunk.jpg

“24” star Kiefer Sutherland is no stranger to alcohol abuse or alcohol-related incidents that end up with him being shamed in the media because of pictures showing him in a worse for wear state. However, until not long, it was believed he had overcome his addiction and gotten his renowned famed temper under control. The other night, Kiefer proved he’d done neither, as he was escorted shirtless out of a London club, The Sun informs.

What’s even worse than the report that the hellraiser star caused a ruckus on a night out is the fact that The Sun even has pictures to prove it. Ironically enough, only hours after being literally carried out of the club, “poured” into a taxi and then off to his hotel, Sutherland was on Jonathan Ross talking about his latest movie, “Twelve,” and looking as if nothing had happened the night before.

The star ended “up shirtless in a tussle with Stringfellows security,” The Sun says of what it describes as “the longest night of his drinking life.” “Sutherland, described by onlookers as ‘absolutely screamingly paralytic,’ was even put in a headlock by bouncers as he lashed out. The 43-year-old actor, born in the capital, is spotted outside The Covent Garden Hotel Bar before meeting a pal. Two hours later he is seen with five empty wine glasses on his table and heard ordering more,” the tab goes on to write.

The star then left for a nightclub, which he would leave a few hours later, much against his will and with the help of bouncers instead of on his own feet. “He went bananas, shouting nonsense and dancing like Peter Crouch before kicking off when asked to leave,” says an eyewitness. “Bouncers hustle him from the premises after a reported bust-up, exposing his tattooed torso as they muscle him to his car. Grim-faced security guards finally seem to have him under control,” The Sun informs, giving an exact timeline of the events.

At a quarter to 4 in the morning, the bodyguards get Kiefer into a car and on the way to his hotel. 15 minutes later, the star is seen giggling and taking a drunken stumble outside the hotel. Stringfellows addressed the incident on its official website, saying the star was not thrown out of the club, but rather “helped to his car.”

Celebrity Fight Night Round 3...

That delicate of flowers, Charley Uchea, has been in a fight. Can you imagine why anyone would fall out with such a delicate bloom? Okay, probably most people!

There she was, Charley Uchea that is, leaving a London nightclub and then through no fault of her own (obviously) she became involved in a catfight.

One version is that Charley was minding her own business and was walking past a group of girls and they began to make remarks about her - then the trouble began!

Suddenly all hell broke loose, there was a fight between Charley and another girl and our heroine was on the floor and yelped as her hair was being pulled. Finally two brave men stepped in and Charley got to her feet screaming and shouting and had to be dragged away.

Her friend said, "It was really nasty and an unprovoked attack. They just jumped on her. One of them said 'let's do her'. She doesn't want to involve the police." Mmmm, wonder why?

Celebrity Fight Night.. Part 3!

Former Big Brother housemate, Rex Newmark, was reportedly involved in a fist fight last weekend in a soho nightclub.

A fellow clubber named Kelly O’Brien told The Daily Star: “I was scared. He turned into ananimal,” she said. “There was a group of five nice guys nearby, who we had been enjoying afriendly conversation with before Rex came along.“Once Rex realised we weren’t interested in him, he just went over and started punching one of them.

“He flipped. I don’t know where Rex had been earlier, but he seemed pretty drunk… He caught one of the guys, whose name was John, between the eyes and blood started pouring out.”O’Brien described the executive chef as “arrogant and obnoxious”.“My top was a little low-cut and Rex said: ‘I see you have your t*ts out tonight’,” she commented.

“I was insulted and replied: ‘You’re gross.’“But that got his back up and it just made him more persistent.“He boasted that he drove a Range Rover Sport and that his sequined top was worth £7,000. He was so arrogant and obnoxious, I tried to pull one of the sequins off.”Photographer David Abiaw commented saw the fight outside the club, he commented:

“I didn’t see how it started, but I saw Rex arguing and screaming abuse, then throwing a punch.“They were all rolling around on the floor, wrestling and kicking. One guy’s friends, some bystanders and bouncers tried to pull him off and stop Rex fighting their friend.”

He continued: “It was a messy fight. One of the friends of the guy Rex appeared to be fighting with tried to stop him with a right hook.“It kept breaking up, then they’d start fighting again. Rex even took his belt off and threatened to hit anybody who came near him.”

Celebrity Fight Night.. Part 2!

Jack Tweed (pic: Splash)

Jack Tweed's mates had a punch-up in a nightclub early yesterday with a group of men who called him a rapist.

Jack, 22, and his friends were on a night out in Central London to celebrate his acquittal in a trial where he faced rape charges. The two groups squared up in the VIP area of nightclub Alto and a fight broke out.Chantelle Houghton, Bianca Gascoigne and Kara Tointon were among the guests but they were not involved in the brawl.

Jack seemed shocked after the fight and one of his friends, believed to be called Rick Klein, was later seen outside with his clothes spattered in blood.A source said: "Jack doesn't seem to realise that wherever he goes from now on blokes are going to call him names just to wind him up."He thinks it's business as usual but if you get accused of rape, it sticks - whether you're convicted or not"If Jack's mates fight with people every time he is called a rapist, the NHS is going to need more blood."The police were not called but security staff at Alto closed the club's doors for 15 minutes as they defused the situation and a member of staff mopped up the blood.Jack eventually left at 3.30am and carried on boozing in nearby Covent Garden. The source said: "He looked totally dazed by the whole incident."He just wanted a quiet drink with his mates after a hellish few months.

"On Monday the club promoter and pal Anthony Davis were cleared of rape after a woman accused them of assaulting her at Jack's home in East London last year.Jack, who is reality TV star Jade Goody's widower, said after the trial: "I'd like to thank my legal team who fought to establish my innocence. I now wish to put the last eight months behind me and rebuild my life as a 22-year-old man."He has two convictions for assault, one on a boy of 16.

Celebrity Fight Night... Remember these...?

Danielle Lloyd was hospitalised yesterday following a fight at a London nightclub, according to reports.

The Wag was apparently attacked by two women in their 20s as she enjoyed a night out with her boyfriend, footballer Jamie O'Hara.

Pictures of Danielle covered in blood and lying on a pavement have been published by a number of British newspapers.

It is believed the couple had been to a wedding before travelling to join friends at the Crystal Club in London's West End.

The attack took place in the early hours of the morning, according to the Sun newspaper.

It is claimed the model was thrown through a glass table in the club's VIP section.

Danielle was taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital where she underwent emergency surgery, the newspaper said.

Scotland Yard are reported to be investigating the incident.

Danielle won Miss England and Miss Great Britain in 2004 and 2006, and has previously dated footballer Teddy Sheringham.

She was also a contestant on the 2007 edition of Celebrity

Disco 24 now relaunched.

24 London on Kingly Street has recently undergone a ‘technological revolution’ and the new super high-tech venue has been re-launched as Bond. The club- bar concept is now being hailed as the first fully interactive bar in the world and has enough clever gadgets to make 007 jealous!Bond is essentially a blank canvas equipped with the latest state-of-the-art lighting and bar technology to create a breathtaking backdrop for a private party or just a Saturday night out. At the flick of a switch special computer controlled projections can transform the room from a heavenly catwalk show to the fiery pit of hell… or anything else you desire! The projections are also interactive so if you put your hand out to touch them they will react to your movements.

The chameleon-like nature of the venue means you will feel as though you’re in a whole new club every time you go along. The iBar also continues the interactive theme and will be touch sensitive. If you touch the bar with your hand light will shoot out towards you and alert the barman that you require a drink.

Guests can also expect digital touch screen menus and the option of sending virtual drinks to other club goers (surely a cheaper option!) and a whole animated show if you order a bottle of Ciroc vodka.

Cirque Du Soir... London's most unique private members club!

London seems to be obsessed with cabaret at the moment – burlesque supperclubs are springing up all over the place with shows such as La Clique feeding our appetites for all things crazy, decadent and bizarre it’s little wonder that this trend is spilling over into clubland. Cirque du Soir has recently opened in the spot formerly occupied by the Burlington Club in Mayfair. It is a club night with a DJ, but with a circus sideshow inspired twist. There’s a nightly changing schedule of live performers ranging from ‘midgets, magicians, contortionists, giants, beautiful girls fully tattooed, to a girl dancing with an albino python on the bar.’ It’s definitely different and daring, so if you’d like to try it for yourself then we are now able to arrange guest lists and tables – members free with guests to pay.

Cirque du Soir is owned by the same people as Jet Black which is in West Central Street, WC1, where AKA used to be. You may have heard rumblings about Jet Black over the last couple of months as it’s an underground club for very nocturnal hedonists... it doesn't get going until about 3am and features fire eaters, circus stunts and table dancers in leather and fishnets! We can now also arrange tables at Jet Black. It’s quite an experience so please contact us if you would like to try it - tables only.

Macy Gray @ Aura Mayfair!

Last night the rnb-soul singer Macy Gray was at Aura Mayfair Club here in London. She had to perform her new single but she went in the dj booth and spent an hour and a half spinning some good old hip hop. Not really good skills on the two turntables but she kept the crowd moving.

Playboy Fraudster who spent £140k at Amika..?

Jailed: Eamon Zada was sentenced to five years behind bars after conning banks out of £1.6m

A playboy fraudster who conned banks out of £1.6million running a credit card cloning factory has been jailed for five years.

When fraud squad detectives battered down his door, Eamon Zada, panicked and tossed hundreds of credit cards out of his fifth-floor window.

The 27-year-old had enjoyed huge spending sprees with the stolen cash, racking up a £140,000 nightclub bill and buying the world's most expensive phone.

On his arrest he told detectives: 'I've had enough' and owned up to his role in the huge scam.

When police searched his Notting Hill flat they found a highly sophisticated device which intercepts credit card details from phones.

It is only the second time the gadget has been found in Britain.

Judge Gregory Stone told Zada at Southwark Crown Court: 'This is a bad case of dishonesty. This was a credit card finishing factory involving very sophisticated equipment to fund an extravagant lifestyle.

'You very much enjoyed the fruits of this criminal activity.' Southwark Crown Court heard police raided Zada's council flat following a tip-off.

Robert Povall, prosecuting said: 'He had four metal locks on a metal framed door. It took the police several minutes to ram their way inside.

'Zada was throwing credit cards out of the window and desperately trying to put others into a shredding machine.'

Police searched his flat to find 300 cards and the details of another 3,000 on his Apple Mac - which was also paid for by the cloned cards.

Mr Povall went on: 'Overall, the loss to banking institutions was £1.64m, with American Express losing £1.3m.

'This money was used to fund his lifestyle with holidays, hiring cars, visits to the Ivy, Halfords, Curry's and on one night spending £140,000 at Amika nightclub in Kensington.

'When he was arrested he was wearing a £4,000 Rolex. He also used the cards to buy a Vertu phone for £4,900.'

Detectives found pictures of Zada and his friends swigging Cristal Champagne and smoking cigars.

One snap was called: 'Big in the game.' Other pictures showed the decadent conman pouring bubbly on the floor.

He used high-tech contraptions that his team would stick underneath cash registers across London.

Once the details had been returned to him, Zada used the numbers to make new cards.

Defending him, Robert Berg told the court that Zada aspired to the easy criminal lifestyle.

He said: 'Although he did not go into this venture blindly, there is no doubt he had been attracted by the sort of lifestyle he had seen other more sophisticated criminals lead.

'They had been able to amuse themselves in any way they wanted with unauthorised credit cards. It became a way of life for him against a bland, unskilled background.

'He is taking the rap for other people who were more deeply and extensively involved than he was.

'An operation of this degree of sophistication would have involved several other people.

'He was tempted by the spoils of crime but he has learnt that the fruits of dishonesty are short term and result in prison.'

Zada, of Grenfell Road, Notting Hill, west London, admitted conspiracy to steal between January 1 and June 16. He was sentenced on Friday.

He has previous convictions for fraud after he and a group of friends went on a £25,000 spending free with cloned cards in Stafford.

Bankers splash out 60k at Merah! Where's my table commission?

£60,117.40 bar bill

A group of investment bankers who correctly bet on the outcome of the election celebrated a huge payout by running up a £60,000 bar bill.

The six men went to Merah nightclub in Fitzrovia on Friday night and asked for the most expensive bottle of champagne, which happened to be a Methuselah of vintage Cristal at £36,000. The six-litre bottle is the equivalent size of eight regular bottles.

A source at the nightclub said: "They had made a small fortune on the outcome of the election, correctly guessing the results in constituencies over quite a large spread.

"When the Methuselah was delivered to their table, the music was stopped and the group were chanting, 'Down with Brown, down with Brown'." They followed it up with a Jeroboam of Cristal at £5,000 and a Methuselah of Dom Perignon, which was £9,000.

Bottles of vodka, beers and shots brought the bill to just over £52,000, with a service charge of nearly £8,000 bringing the grand total to £60,117.40.

The source added: "Needless to say, their spending attracted quite a few girls who helped them through all the drinks. They were very popular boys by the time they called it a night at 3am.

"The guys were in their mid-forties and had come straight from work as they still had their suits on.

"When their champagne arrived the whole club stood still - each bottle was delivered to the table with sparklers sticking out of the top. They were surrounded by about 20 women all night.

"They were cheering and shouting throughout their evening and told staff they had guessed the outcome of the election to within a seat. They did not reveal how much they had won, but said their £60,000 bill 'wouldn't even touch the sides'."

Worlds most expensive cocktail launched! 35K a glass!

The World's most expensive christmas cocktail is being launched today at a notorious, London A-list hang-out.

"Flawless", at £35,000 for a glass, promises to break the bank for all but the uber-rich, which some feel is a snub to the rest of us as economists panic over the credit crunch.

The Movida nightclub, which has hosted celebs including Kylie and Dannii Minogue, Jordan and Peter Andre, has already taken a few orders for the drink.

The Movida nightclub is launching the world's most expensive christmas cocktail

Ingredients in the costly cocktail include a large measure of Louis XII cognac, half a bottle of Cristal Rose champagne, some brown sugar, angostura bitters and a few flakes of 24-carat edible gold leaf, according to The Guardian.

But the real extravagance is an 11-carat white diamond ring - which can be found at the bottom of the glass.

And customers buying the exorbitant cocktail won't go unnoticed. Two security guards will be on watch as the drink is prepared and watch over the client's table until the last sip.

"They're definitely paying for the show as well," said Ed Rollason, the bar's manager.

The A-list bar claims to be in the top 5 in the world for sales of Crystal champagne

A property developer, who is among the first to order the drink, says it's a christmas present for his girlfriend.

"I just thought it would be a nice thing to do for her. She has so many other things."

Asked if he doesn't have anything better to do with £35,000, he said: "It's about the same as a holiday, isn't it?"

Movida is known for it's extravagance. It claims to be the "world's biggest supplier of Don Perignon" and boasts sailing "effortlessly into the Top 5 in the world for their sales of Crystal champagne."

Less than a quarter of workers could afford the fancy beverage, even if they saved every penny for a year.

Many received the news as further proof of the irresponsibility of the super-rich.

Labour MP Sion Simon said: "It's like sticking two fingers up at the rest of society.

"You might as well set fire to your money in front of those less well-off.

"It's a very deliberate way of saying 'We are not part of the same country as you.'"

Social commentator Peter York agreed: "It is so gauche, so crashingly crass, that everyone else will see the buyers as barely literate, as one step up from a potato.

"It will be one of those things that unite both the middle class and the old rich in a belief that the super-rich come out of some kind of primeval ooze."

When nightclub bottle service goes BAD!

123107Arena.jpg

22-year-old Gregory Barnard was having a pretty sweet night with his bros at the Times Square nightclub Arena (pictured) one night over the summer. Fresh out of NYU, the kid spent the evening enjoying a reasonably priced $350 dollar bottle of vodka, watching the club’s far-out video projections, and allegedly getting a beatdown from bouncers for not buying enough booze!

According to Barnard, it all started when the time came to settle the tab and his server seriously harshed the vibe with news of Arena’s 3 bottle minimum, which left her no choice but to charge him an extra $700 bucks for two unordered bottles. When Barnard refused, a series of events unfolded that truly capture the essence of the New York nightclub experience:

After running Barnard’s credit card several times, the waitress claimed it was denied. A bouncer threw him to the floor and held him down while two other bouncers punched and kicked him, he said.

They then picked Barnard up and walked him two blocks to an ATM for more money, but the bank had frozen his card because the waitress had already charged $1,400 on it, swiping the card at least nine times, he said.

So the bouncers dragged him back to the club and held him until the police arrived to arrest him for “theft of services” – a charge which was later dropped. Oh, what a night. Now Barnard is suing Arena for $2 million dollars; he filed suit last week in Manhattan Supreme Court. Forbes has said that New York City has some of the most expensive bottle service in the country. And what’s your worst nightclub bouncer experience – maybe we can get a class action going!

The world’s largest size of champagne bottle is on display at Portland Wines.

The Melchizedek - equivalent to 40 standard bottles - stands four feet tall and is worth £4,000.

The huge bottle of Drappier was specially ordered from the shop on Portland Street by a Southport businessman who collects champagne, but it will be on display for another week.

The same man bought the second-largest size - a 36-bottle Primat - from the store several years ago.

“This is the largest mass-produced bottle in the world, but they only make around 20 a year,” Portland Wines owner Dave Smith said.

“They are made to order and it has taken about 12 weeks for it to arrive. It is exciting for all of us to have it on display in the shop.”
